Traditionally, the main direction of commutation in Westchester has been south to New York City. However over the past two decades, we've seen an increase in reverse commuting to revitalized city centers such as White Plains and office parks along the Interstate 287 corridor.

The Westchester County Planning Board and County Department of Planning are currently working with the eight municipalities along the Interstate 287 corridor that will be affected by the impending Tappan-Zee Bridge replacement project. County Planning staff has worked closely with municipal officials to create 3D visioning models of various Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) alignment options across the corridor.
